This group drew a large mind map around the words “My Future”, grouping jobs into four families. Crafts: shoemaker, blacksmith, armourer and potter. Military: modern defence systems engineer and even espionage, a reminder of how present security is in young people’s minds today. AI and technology: robotics, IT, AI trainer, AI specialist, cybersecurity and social services. Economy: investments, cryptocurrencies and e-banking.

In a separate box they list the skills that will matter: psychological resilience and social skills, the ability to reuse and recycle objects, and technical and IT skills. Old trades and new technologies sit side by side on the same map, and both, they suggest, need a strong mind.
