Students from Primary School No. 5 in Piaseczno put independence at the centre of their poster. Asked whether AI could choose a career for us, they answer no: every person should think for themselves. The ideal job, they write, combines passion and profit, and it is also shaped by practical factors such as the price of raw materials.

Some jobs will disappear because of AI, but others are coming back: the roofer and the stove fitter, the craftsman who builds traditional tiled stoves, because people again want the things these trades make. The group is critical of school, which in their view rewards memorising over creativity. For the future they name three skills: spotting fake news, knowing history and being self-reliant.
