Class 8C placed a stick figure labelled “Us” at the centre of their poster, with arrows pointing to each answer. The first arrow asks “What next?” and leads to AI as a help in choosing the future, because it makes information about jobs easier to find. Our life path, they write, is guided by the need for future work that will genuinely interest us.

The class notes that new opportunities, such as working abroad, change our choices. Some jobs are being replaced by AI, as self-service checkouts show. Trades like the blacksmith and the potter are coming back into favour. Does school prepare us? “Not at the moment.” Psychologists and broad general knowledge will be in demand.

The poster closes with two lists. Jobs of the future: cybersecurity expert, data analyst, robotics and automation engineer. Returning jobs: blacksmith, potter, brewer and hatter.
